Welding Procedures

Welding Procedures and Qualifications

A welding procedure is a development based on a Procedure Qualification Record, which documents collected data acquired from a test weld that would mirror the exact joint and construction specified by required engineered drawings. This data ranges from material and angle to volt amps and travel speed, among other information gathered during the collection phase. The data will be sent to a laboratory for testing and analysis, and after positive results, The Welding Wiz will develop a weld procedure.

Why Welding Procedures Matter

Legal Requirement

In Australia, it is required by law to have a weld procedure for every weld and joint construction for every weld that is required during a project.

Safety Standards

Welding Procedures and Qualifications are required by law or industry standards to ensure that all welds meet safety standards to reduce risk or any accidents that may occur.

Certified Technicians

Our technicians are certified and have taken qualification tests to administer welding procedures for inspection and testing, ensuring compliance with standards.

Our Welding Procedure Process

1

Data Collection

Collect data from a test weld, including material, angle, volt amps, and travel speed.

2

Laboratory Testing

Send the data to a laboratory for testing and analysis.

3

Procedure Development

Develop a weld procedure based on the test results.

4

Replication

Welders can replicate the specific weld in the future for similar purposes.
